Application: swaging is a special type of forging in which metal is formed
by a succession of rapid hammer blows. Used to reduce the outer diameter
of round, flat or square rod, pipe or tubing, swaging provides a reduced
round cross section suitable for tapping, threading, upsetting or other
subsequent forming and machining operations. Swaged components benefit
from increased tensile strength and improved appearance as a result of
this hot forging process. Swaging also minimizes stress points commonly
caused by milling ends for threading. If only one end is swaged, the other
end can be formed or machined to your specifications.
Finish: plain, passivated or painted are available.
Cost Savings Tip: use swaging to eliminate welded/threaded
studs and extra components. Swaging is less expensive than other methods
of shaping due to the elimination of all metal removal. Externally swaged
and threaded linkages assembled to female linkage ends always cost less
than male linkage ends assembled into internal threads. Let

Materials: carbon, stainless and aluminum.
