Forming Collars

Application: upset collars are formed integrally to one or both ends of the rod, and are used to provide a flush surface to fit against the mounting point. Available in rod diameters up to 1.0", the stem portion of the rod (dimension "E") is often used as a moving linkage typical in function to that of a yoke end. Custom upset designs are our specialty and can be produced in an endless number of styles.

The "Support Rod Example" drawing represents a typical support rod used in conjunction with rubber isolators. One end can be flattened and punched - ideal for a brace application requiring adjustment on only one end.

The "Offset Design" can be used in linkage applications in place of a yoke end if no adjustment is needed and clearance allows the offset.

Finish: plain, painted or plated are available. If plating is specified, standard MCP plating is zinc with a yellow dichromate treatment.
