Tube Custom Threading

Application: MCP cuts and rolls threads up to 1.0" and 25mm sizes, in right hand, left hand, inch, and metric standards, including SAE classes 1A-2A-3A UNF and UNC. Special threads are available in volume or with tooling.

Plated Threads: plated threads are manufactured to Class 2A (metric class "-g") and checked to Class 3A (metric class "-h") after plating. Threads specified as 2A (or metric "g") with a plated finish with be 2A (metric "g") prior to plating, and 3A (metric "-h") after plating as per ANSI BSME B1.1-1989, B1.13M-1983, and ISO 96511-1980.

Thread Sizes : typical thread sizes offered include all fine and course inch threads from 10-32 thru 1", and metric thread sizes M4 x 0.7, M6 x 1.00, M8 x 1.25, M10 x 1.5, M12 x 1.75, M16 x 2.00, and M20 x 2.50.

Cost Savings Tip: Tubes can be reduced into a smaller diameter which can then be threaded. Refer to the SWAGING page. The swaging process is a cost effective forging operation that eliminates the need to weld a threaded rod or bolt to the parent tubing material.

Plated Thread Caution: when specifying tubing to be plated, please consult with MCP Sales Engineers regarding your application; plated tubes require significant drainage holes to ensure plating solutions do not leak out of the part after plating.
